Newbie w/newguy story
Hi to everyone here. Thanks to David Johnson, he told me about this website I've been lurking around here for quite some time.
Since it's been a tradition for stories I'll get one started. Sorry no pics until the new printer and camera get along.
David has been my friend for over 15 years and he's been kind enough to allow me on his sled for a better part of our friendship.
I finally stepped up to the plate and I bought a new sled (Alumaweld 21 Super Vee). I took the new sled out mainly on the Columbia River and had probably the best salmon/steelhead year I have had.
The best day was fishing down around Longview in Sept. We began the day by saying "Hi" to other boaters and asked politely if they minded another boat in between them (anchored). I quickly heard a guy say something like "D@$& guide boat!" I'm not a guide and responded by deciding to try another spot. There's plenty of anchoring water on the Columbia
I had four friends and relatives on board and none of them were impressed w/the attitude by the other guys.
Rather than get into it We promptly moved to another location and began to fish. Before noon we had released 9 semi dark chinook and kept 10 chrome chinook The biggest being 39 and the smallest 22
Luck and some skill paid off. The next day I told David to come out where we fished and he did. I can't remember how he did exactly, but I know he did well. We only had 3 of us on board and we went 7 for 9 and kept 5. The biggest 36 and the smallest 27
All the chinook were caught on Kwikfish and spinners and a different type of carott juice
I normally wouldn't call it carott juice but someone out there might think it's funny

Re: Newbie w/newguy story
Thanks everyone for the welcome
BigFishFever, David is an easy person to meet he goes where the fish are He spoke at Fisherman's Marine two different days this week.
There's a lot of cool guys/gals on this board that's what made me get on here P.S. Mail those letters in regards to BPA (Bonneville Power) regardless if we have a good snow pack, spill the water over the dam

Re: Newbie w/newguy story
Thanks to everyone who said "welcome" and such!
I hope to see you all on the river, but one at a time... I can't have too many witnesses of the secret anti-carrot juice in action I have to pick on the carrot crew, just cuz I have heard a lot of good about them. My crew is comprised of only a few...The Good, The Bad, and The UGLY

Re: Newbie w/newguy story
Hey Big Bro! Welcome aboard. Sorry I'm a little late in welcoming you...goose season kept me pretty busy and I haven't been on Ifish for a few weeks. I want to go fishing in your new boat sometime. Let me know when you want to take me.
