I was just admiring the large Hedgehog specimans in the market. I can't say we've looked real hard but I've not found them the way we do chanterelles.

I've found the hedgehogs on Mt.Hood but not in the Coast Range.

What sort of habitat do the Hedgehogs favor?

I find them in and amongst the winter Chanterelles. That means in a coniferous forest mature enough to have windfalls rotting on the ground. They are TASTY!

Default Hedgehogs and Yellowfeet

The mushrooms are still out there. I have been finding lots and lots, so if you get cabin fever like I do, get out in the forest and find some Chantrelles and Hedgehogs. Provided you know how to identify them, of course. If you don't know, here is a place to start to learn: http://www.wildmushrooms.org/
