Trillium Lake Report
Hit Trillium Lake yesterday after church. Got up there right at 1pm and people were catching fish. I had my boat with the electric, girlfriend and another female friend with us. We got up there and I realized you can't have an electric. I knew you could not have gas motors, but I thought you could have electrics. Doooh! Anyways, I put three poles out with with either a rooster tail or wedding rings, opened up a beer and waited. It took awhile, but we finally found some fish. I liked the spinners because the fish will not swallow the hook and I am the one taking the fish off the line. The girls tried but were afraid to touch the fish and I did not want them to die, because I was catch and releasing. I tried handing the oars off to my girlfriend because she wanted to row, but she does not take direction very well and that caused an argument, so back on the sticks I went and gave up on my pole. We had constant double's on, and I was constantly taking fish off so I had no time to fish. We fished from about one to five before the ladies got cold and caught probably 20 trout from 8-12 inches and lost that many because they could not figure out how to set the hook. All in all it was a great day on the lake and I had a designated driver to take us home. I love when my girlfriend comes fishing, because she generally does not drink and uhhh huuu, she is good company !

Re: Trillium Lake Report
Glad the fishing was good. And hey I guess if you didn't get to fish much you got to show them a good time and tip a few back as well. I have never fished Trillium but it sounds like a great place. Are most of the fish 8-12 or do they get bigger ones as well?

The get bigger. They stock it with larger ones sometimes and there is the occasional holdover.
This is one I caught last weekend up there. Just over 3lbs.

Re: Trillium Lake Report
Hey Benny,
I have seen plenty of bigger fish caught there back in the day. I hadn't been in a few years, hence me thinking you could have an electric motor. It is a great lake for a float tube or small boat.

Re: Trillium Lake Report
Thanks for the info guys! Is the lake big enough to put a drift boat in? Or is it fairly small? Thanks again for the info!

Re: Trillium Lake Report
Drift boats are perfect at Trillium...................
One special hint.................chartruse rooster tail. Wind drift, cast and retrieve equals fish on.

This color was working yesterday, although it didn't seem to matter what color you tossed out there...

Re: Trillium Lake Report
I am heading up there tomorrow with my girlfriend. No boat to take. Any advice on a strech of bank that might be more productive than another? I am thinking power bait or spinners would work? Thanks for the tips. I will report back,,, PS sorry to butt in on this post but it seems like the only one on this subject right now.

Re: Trillium Lake Report
When I was there a week ago, there were a couple people at the boat ramp fishing bobber and worms doing good and another person fishing 3/4 the way up on the north east side of the lake throwing spinners and he a mess of trout. He was wading (its shallow in that area), don't know if you will want to do that.

Re: Trillium Lake Report
Hey guys,
Me and my pops went up on Saturday (6/13/09). Kick the tar out of them from the bank. We were using RED power bait about 50 feet out from shore. had very few small ones (10" and under) took home our limit of 12" - 14" fish.

Re: Trillium Lake Report
has anyone camped here? My sister and brother in law want to go camping and to me camping and no fishing = wasted trip. Just wondering if the tent sites are up to par. We would like to go this weekend hoping it wont be all booked up. Thanks guys.

Re: Trillium Lake Report
Camped there a few times had a blast. The lots right next to the lake go pretty fast so you might want to call in early. If I remember you can call and make reservation. The other spots that are not next to the water still are pretty good size. If you get an end lots they are usually bigger then the ones in the middle just have to walk a little to get to the lake. There are also cabins a few miles way from the lake that are nice to have the whole family including the grandparents.
