Re: SoloFlex?
Pulling crab pots is vastly superior exercise.

Re: SoloFlex?
Had a Soloflex, better half upgraded me to a Bowflex (Gift). Suppose she's trying to tell me something?
I believe Soloflex is still around, but you have to wonder for how long...

Re: SoloFlex?
There's still a sign in Hillsboro that says Soloflex.
Their big thing now is structual steel. Like the stuff you see in the place of 2x4's in house's and industrial complex's.
Not sure that they're even making the weight stuff.
I thought you just got rid of the clutter in your garage?
Drift boat, baby, new car, Soloflex..... Do you ever decide on anything?

Re: SoloFlex?
Crap is still in the garage. Cant get rid of it. Need to just call the Disabled Vets...get the tax deduction. Either that or list it on craigslist.com and see if folks want the stuff.
Wife is telling me that if we had something at the house, she'd work out on it and be even leaner and buffer than she is. Hard to argue against buying the set up when you envision 6' tall long legged blonde muscular hottie.
Boat comes some time after the baby and the carpet in the basement. Who knows. I'm holding out for a real boat though, not a drift boat.
And I think Soloflex moved to Vancouver. Saw the bowflex, but dont really like that set up as much I dont think. Not one bar for bench pressing, but two handles instead. Probably a better workout, but not sure if the wife would like that or not.

Re: SoloFlex?
Home gyms are expensive. You should look in the Sunday Oregonian under Fitness equiptment. You can find these systems for 50% off retail and hardly used. Dont buy new....its not worth it.

Re: SoloFlex?
Not gonna buy one new. Looking at a Soloflex on Ebay in PDX area. Might buy it.
Leroy...interested in selling yours? If so, what price? What attachments does it have? Did you like the Soloflex, or is it crap?

Re: SoloFlex?
I never had a band break, but I took them in whenever I spotted a nick in them.
I did however break the two piece "Bolt" that holds one end of the power bands once doing some leg presses. Soloflex gave me a new one, but it scared the heck out of our Parrot when it broke.
I should know whether the deal on the soloflex is still on in day or so.
I looked at the one on E-Bay, and it looks like it is the original model. I have the newer one with the padded bench, but it does have a slice in it. It hasn't gotten any worse in the last three or four years that I have had it though....
It also has the leg attachment and the butterfly.

Re: SoloFlex?
They don't work! Don't buy it!
I had one for in the house for two years, and it never did a thing for me!
Of course, I never tried it, but still!

Re: SoloFlex?
Reminds me of the time the better half and I bought bicycles to get in shape and lose weight. They didn't work either, and we rode them all the time!
Mondays we would ride to Baskin Robbins, Tuesdays to Dairy Queen, and so on. Didn't lose an ounce!

Re: SoloFlex?
I thought all you had to do was buy one, then hang your laundry on it, and the pounds fall right off!?!?

Re: SoloFlex?
It has everything, but supposedly it is spoken for. He just hasn't come to pick it up yet...
They sell for a few hundred dollars used, and yes I did like it. Not as versatile as the Bowflex, but much sturdier. The bands are a problem, with use they start getting splits in them. I had always been able to take them to the Soloflex headquarters in Hillsboro and they would swap them out for free. More things to break on the bowflex, but it has held up quite well.
My only beef with Bowflex is that they are right here in Vancouver, and when I had a hand grip break on me, they gave me a new set. They also said that I would have to call their 800 number if I had any more problems!
I'll see if this deal is going to fall through, and let you know if it is available though.

Re: SoloFlex?
Do the bands break? Seems like that could hurt someone if they go shooting across the room!
I like that the Solo takes up less space, side to side, than the Bow. I also like the single bar for bench presses as opposed to the dual handles.
Keep me posted. I am working on a deal for a set up right now...will know by this weekend if I'll get it or not. If not, or if you know before Saturday, I may take yours.

Re: SoloFlex?
I just got word that the potential buyer backed out. He's been telling us for a year now that he wanted it, but when asked, he said thanks but no thanks...
Let me know if you are still interested and want to check it out.

Re: SoloFlex?
Definately interested. What attachments does yours have? How much weight? Also, how much do you want for it?
Got a bid on one on Ebay...and I am winning for now. But if I get outbid, I could be interested in yours.

Re: SoloFlex?
Got one as well, used it and yes it works. I used it for cross training for racing dirtbikes. There are pros and cons. No clanging and banging around and you can have it right inside the house. On the other hand hitting the free weights has a nice feel as well.
I haven't used mine since the kids came and would be open to sell it. I got the butterfly and leg attachments.
