$100 or less drift rods suggestions?
Need a new rod and on a strict budget. Looking for something 81/2 -9ft. med/fast action 8-12 or someting in this range. Not too light, I want it to handle springers as well.

Re: $100 or less drift rods suggestions?
Thillman, I have the perfect rod for you for sale. I paid $180 for it two years ago and have hardly used it. It is a custom built LROD. 8'6" 8-17lb. I have used it for Spingers and Winter Steelhead. I will sell it for $50 and I live in Albany. Grant

Also check out Bimart, they have Lami's for around $60 to $80. Or the Berkley IM7's that are always on sale for about $60

Re: $100 or less drift rods suggestions?
Just got the Buzz Ramsey and like it. GI Joes has it for $20 off right now. Not sure about those low-priced Lami's at Bi-Mart... they say something like "designed by Lamiglas". Anybody fished one?

Re: $100 or less drift rods suggestions?
I have a med/heavy Buzz Ramsey and a med cheaper grade Lami. I use the Ramsey for springers and the Lami for steelhead. Love them both. You can’t go wrong with either.

Re: $100 or less drift rods suggestions?
lilnorthfork,
I have one of those cheap Lamiglas rods. They are a Lami blank, machine built in China or somewhere. They fish as well as my "good" Lamiglas. You can't beat the price, but only a one year warrantee.
Buy one! I think they are great(for the price).

Re: $100 or less drift rods suggestions?
I've got the 8'6" 8-12lb Air IM-7 Berkley for steelhead and the 8'6" 12-25 Air IM-7 Berkley for springers. Both are the buzz ramsey models. These rods are awesome, I would highly suggest them and they are super cheap. Good luck man.

Re: $100 or less drift rods suggestions?
I understand you are on a budget, but I would'nt skimp on a rod if at all possible. If you can afford a Lami, Loomis, or Rogue, I would recomend one of these. If the cash just isn't there, G.I. Joes has Buzz Ramsey IM7 for around 60 bucks on sale. Also, if you can get up to Fishermans in Oregon City, check out the North River rods, 70 to 80 bucks and lifetime warranty if not mistaken. St. Criox might not be a bad choice as well, they are priced right in the middle of top line rods, to the bargin basement deals.
Good luck.

Re: $100 or less drift rods suggestions?
Check out the All Star rods at Sportsman Warehouse. I have never used one but they felt pretty nice and they are under $100. I think they were highly touted blanks that now come pre-built for purchase.
Anybody have any experience with All Star??

I've heard great things about the All Star rods. Never had the honor to use one but I guess they have a great reputation.

Re: $100 or less drift rods suggestions?
IFISH4U --- Following your advice, and because I need very little reason to buy a rod ( ), I set out this morning to find a Fenwick HMX rod. Only Sportsman's Warehouse had one, and it was a 10-20. I bought it anyway, but does anyone sell the lighter versions or stock these rods in any quantity?
Very nice rod, at least in appearance. I like the rubber inserts in the handle.
I am so sick.....
