A guy I work with had a nephew go there for a while.

He told me it is a rough crowd. He says they have turned some kids on the wrong road around which is a good thing.

He tells me there are plenty of minorities in there, clicks develop, and if you want to find trouble you dont need to look far. But if you want, you can turn your life around in there according to the guy I work with.

Good luck

I did'nt go to Tounge Point J.C. but I went to Timber Lake J.C. There seemed to be a few kids a little rough around the edges but there where more good than bad. Not sure about Toung Point becuase it's alot bigger than Timberlake. But the bennifeits of a bigger place is that there is more to do. I did Forestry and am doing really well with the U.S. Forest Service to this day. Give the place a chance. If you don't like it you can transfer or just leave.

I didn't go there but did a lot of work with the staff a number of years ago.
I found that the staff really cared about the students and wanted them to do well.
As was stated though, there is a rough bunch that you are better staying away from.

I went to J.C. 1993 to 1994, 13 months. The forestry program I took focused on the basic forestry practices and use of forestry tools. Once you get a job with an agency you can pretty much choose want your into. Wildlife, Wildland fire, fisheries, Silvaculture, Engineering, etc. Some of them require alot more schooling but can be achieved through some agencies for free or very cheap. I chose the Wildland Fire route and have moved up the ladder to Lead Forestry Technition and am also expierienced in alot more feilds of the U.S. Forest Service. So Job Corps is a pretty decent tool if you use it right, and take advantage of the program. The only problem I had with it is the age of students there. Ages 16 thru 25. You will see that it cuases alot of conflicts of maturity.
