For future reference, let me make sure I have this straight: Anything that happens during a Presidency is the fault of the President who is in office at that time.

GOT IT!

Crabbait,
Look up Loral and connect the dots. Just because one chooses to ignore this doesn't change the truth.

Here's a few of the easy to find links on Clinton corruption.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">I see your Loral and raise you an Enron. Loral may have sold aerospace technology to China, but it was Enron that engaged in the "energy shortage" in the West back in 2000.

Geek,
What Enron did only cost us $$$,$$$,$$$,$$$.$$.

What Loral and the others did could cause our cities to glow.

There is no way that they are comparable.

This shouldn't be read as support for Enron (Note: This is NOT a smiley) There is even a connection from Enron and others and the theft of irrigation water from the Klamath Basin (more water down the canyon= more power generated=more profit for the Enrons)

Most of the shenanigans that the Enron Management did was during Jannet Reno's watch.

I have always felt I made more progress looking ahead rather than looking back..

Clinton is gone.

Rejoice if you will then move on for crying out loud!

Not condoning what Loral did, but China could have gotten that technology from a number of places. They just found Loral to be money-hungry enough to do it. However, that does not assure us of having one of those glow-in-the-dark tans.

Enron, on the other hand, purposely manipulated the energy prices in California during one of the hottest times of the year. People DIED because of a lack of electricity to run their AC during the rolling blackouts. They made the price for electricity in California and other western states skyrocket, affecting EVERYONE.

Sorry, but that's at least just as dispicable, if not moreso. And that happened in the summer of 2000.

Geek,
So bribing a President so that he'll look away from treason is OK I don't think so!
More Connect the dots.

The Energy ripoff was just part of the Enron crimes. And the key word here is "Most".

Clinton is gone from policy making.

Clinton is right in middle of money making and only because people are more obsessed with him than he was with Monica.

Those of you that give him the time of day are the reason he could make millions doing what he is doing.

Rush and people such as yourself are making him more millions.

Rush has reason, so he too can make more millions by keeping Clinton alive.

You, I have no idea why you buy into his business of making money.

Also, if you are going to start demanding that politicians go to jail for their lies, you are going to have to be prepared to build a whole lot more prisons.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">Where did I say that it was okay? Where did I say anything about Clinton bribery? I do just fine putting words into my own mouth, thank you. I need no help from anyone else.

What I said is that Enron's actions in the Summer of `00 affected a millions of Americans financially, right when the economy was in the midst of a tailspin. That's low. Very low. And I challenge anyone to say otherwise.

Some good links.

Geek,
I would rather be broke (I am) than see Portland glow. Can't compare the two crimes, other than bribery if there is a $$$ connection found between Bush and Enron (This could happen).

Sad....there was a one week break from this thread, then it has a resurerection (southpark reference for those who dont watch it), and quickly degenerates into name calling by Keta again.

How about instead of Jennie closing the LIG board, she just close all threads immediately following the first personal insult, which would also be edited per her new rules.

Let's review this wonderful thread for the edification of all, but mostly Keta:

Keta to Lost Sailor: " Give us a link to support your fantasies. " This is clearly meant to inflame LS with the dunce cap to start, then the reference to LS's opinion as "fantasies". Shows no respect for the individual he is addressing.

Keta to Spey: "Didn't have your morning joint." Disrespecting Spey by calling him a drug user, also to inflame, even though Keta thought the links Spey provided supported his point of view.

Geek to Stew: "They are digging their own holes." Remark was meant to point out to Stew that Keta's arguments were making Geek's point, i.e., Keta was digging his own grave with references. Not disrespectful, just stating his opinion of the validity of Keta's argument and supporting documentation.

Keta then responds that those who do not agree with him must have their "head in the sand" meaning that they are naive or refuse to "link the dots" the way that Keta does. Then Keta says, "I think your head is somewhere else." Again, disrespectful and inflammatory.

Keta ends with, "if it works for you lefties it should work for all". By this he reveals that he knows he is treading on very soft sand but feels that he has done the same thing that others have done. Not so.

Straight up and on the board: Keta if you cannot engage in these discussions without being disrespectful or trying to inflame those who do not share your opinion then do not engage in these discussions. People are not stupid or naive simply because they do not agree with you.

You have been repeatedly warned. If this continues I will request that you be suspended.

This post will be e-mailed to Keta and to admin to ensure that the message has been received.

This forum is for sharing views and discussing issues, not for trying to anger those who do not agree with an opinion. I am tired of this junk, so is Jennie and many other members. She has asked repeatedly that the bickering stop.

It stops now or we clean house.
