Default First Seven Pounder

Hi got lucky in a local pond last week. I've caught several 3-5 pounders over the last couple of months but this one pushed the scales to 7.1. She also had someone elses Chartreuse Chatter bait in her maw. that's what I call a great before work stop.. a new personal best and a free lure.

Great fish.

Thank you for sharing the pic and the story.

I am pretty sure I know that pond as well but I will send you a PM to find out if I am correct.

That's a nice one WS! Hope you got measurements. You might want to have a replica done.

Nice fat fish, looks like a spawner with the gut and torn up tail, good thing you caught it and weighed it before it lost its eggs.

Hey I know where you caught her and that is my chatter bait that I lost acouple of weeks ago. LOL that is too funny. She hit that and ran along the log down there by the outflow and broke my line.

Dragon67 you are right! I didn't see the nest, but she was obviously building it right next to or under the log. We should meet there sometime with the float tubes and compare notes. Everybody else just tries to catch the trout. I think that fish also catches the trout! Hmmm.... maybe a Stocker Trout swimbait....

Very nice! About 1/4 of my tackle box are lures/indicators I've found while fishing various places. Of course, extra tackle are always keepers!

Nice Fish Whopper. I read the story on the club web site. Great to see the pic. I have not targeted the Bass in that pond much, but did catch a nice one about 5lbs a few years ago in there. Looks like a spinnerbait? I have about a dozen that I have not used in a while, Ill have to give it a try. Hey, I fish out of a pontoon boat there, if you ever generous enough to give a bass newbie a few pointers or meet there and fish, let me know. Thanks and great fish!!
