Ultimate Kokanee Jigging Line?
My search for the ultimate kokanee jigging line may be over! I just received samples of a new line "TUFLINE XP Indicator" It's color metered, dyed a different color every 10 feet. I can't wait to try it. Finally a line I can let out to a precise depth for suspended fish, from a spinning reel. Or reel up to a precise depth when I see a school finning by suspended when my jig is at the bottom.
I've been testing Crystal Fireline (white above the water for great visability, and supposed to be clear under water, so I don't have to mess with leader), but even after catching a bunch of fish on it, it still retains enough line memory that I am not confident I have the best possible strike transmision. This Tufline looks like it will lay nice and straight, and has bright enough colors that I'll be able to see it well when horizontal jigging. I'll just have to go back to knotting on 6' of florocarbon leader.
Cool stuff! THANKS Ron and Randy for the tipoff!
Any other nominations for the best jigging line?

I really like Spiderwire because if the small diameter and low memory, but that Tufline sounds very nice. It would be great to have colors every 10 feet.

Any recommendations on the #test for that tufline? That really sounds like it would work. My wife and I were alternately stripping out pulls and reeling up turns, but that isn't a very exact science and counting colors would be much easier.

I have some 10 and 15 pound -- I'd love to see 6 pound but 10 is not bad. Don't know where you can get it yet.

Saw some at ..... uh .... I guess the receipt said wholesale sports that day, the store formally known as Sportsmans Warehouse in Bend. I was looking for line for my salmon/steelhead rod so I had no real interest at the time but it seems like a great idea for jigging.
Hey look, moknots just went up his fish ladder from steelhead to chromer .

That sounds cool Mike! That will be a huge advantage! For me anyway! Dang I just got out of, formally known as sportmans in Salem, I will check next time!

That also sounds like it would work real well jigging for bulls suspended under and above said kokanee schools. Will have to give it a try.

Hey chromer,
To what pound of mono does the jigging line diameter correspond? Ten pound might not be too bad.
BTW, fishing at Wickiup using the info from class was an absolute blast! Thanks!

Sounds like you are a quick study! WTG on the Wickiup trip!!
This stuff is not the skinniest of the braids. The 10# looks about like 6# mono, so still a nice advantage. BTW, some of the finer braids kind of fluff off the spool when casting, creating very annoying wads that can turn into nasty knots, so I'm hoping this line is more resistant to that kind of unruly behavior!
Heading for Wicki now!
Hey, Randy from Tom Posey, what's your iFish handle?

--could you PM me on the price of the jig line please, thanks. I have access to a similar line but thought the cost was to high to import and no one would want to use it.
--also have a low stretch mono 4kg is 0.23mm regular 8lb test mono same brand is 0.25mm . thin mono 8lbs is 0.20mm 50lb braid is about 10 lb diameter.
--I expect your braid is thicker as for jigging no matter what the lb test the thicker line will be more abraission resistant, thus the trade of on diametre.
--sorry about the mm milimitres but line is from Australia and I'm from Canada so flip flop between feet and metres.
--the low stretch mono is about 12% stretch.
--an esperienced fisher will feel more bites with braid but will still lose some fish.
--my experience is slightly less hook ups with low stretch but higher % of hook ups landed. this will of course vary with experience, equipent used and depth but I think it is a good compromise.
