AdAware is a good spyware removal tool, and the last time I checked it was free. A search on Google will bring it up for ya.

Personally, if any software installs spyware on my computer then it's not legitimate software in my book and I'll let the company know about it. Of course, I'm one of those Linux Geeks so that's not so much a problem as it is in the Windows world.

Add aware is cool. The freeware works well, but if you buy the full version, it functions while you surf instead of after infestation.

Theres a lot of cool freeware at www.winsite.com
Beware of Betas, they can mess up your comp.
Atomic clock sync sets your comp time to the US atomic clock. Also tried a program that will read you any typed text. Its audibly annoying because it speaks in one octave, but is good for children, the visually impaired, and of course those like me with A.D.D. Might not be a bad idea with the new text size here!

Default pop up ads

Just "surfing" ifish for some springer info and encountered a POP UP AD! ON IFISH!
Hope it was just a fluke. Has anyone else had this happen?

Oh brother...
Yeah, and I'm also spying on each and every one of you, and sending you out lots of visa mailers.

Nope, ifish has no pop ups. However, you might want to invest in some sort of search and destroy software to see how much spyware you have on your own computer.
It's really amazing! I had 30 programs spying on me and sending me cute little ads. I nuked em all!
See, what happens, is people don't realize it, but when you buy software, it comes, many times, with spy ware. These "spy ware" programs are here to help you! Really! They have things to sell you that YOU NEED!
NOT.

Anyway, I downloaded a good spy ware cleaner, and I got rid of some of them. Only thing is to be careful... Some legit software will not let you use the product, if you remove their spyware, so read the user agreement.

What is wrong with the font size? It's at least as large as it was before the upgrade!

Wasnt being critical! Just a suggestion for the "visually impaired" who had mentioned the font/text size in another thread. (Reply box)
Board looks fine to me.

I ran ad aware last week and got rid of about 30 things. However, when I was done, something on my machine started trying to use the modem to do something. I disconnected the modem to stop that, but I'm really chapped that I can't seem to remove whatever it is. Anyone have any ideas how to figure out what it is and stop it?
