Default Willamette this weekend? Need advice....

Hey folks,

I want to do some Salmon fishing this weekend and am new to the Willamette. My fishing book has alot of areas between Ore. City to the Columbia. I know Tillamook like the back of my hand. One of my goals this year is to try a different fishery to expand my early season success. What area would you reccommend and will my cut plug herring work here too?
How will the murky water affect my success this weekend?

Thanks,

Try just above where the other rivers dump in, and S H A L L O W water. Cut plugs work okay, but slightly smaller that in Tilly in the fall (most guys use Blue Label here).
