diamond lake

Fished Diamond lake today until the lightning pushed us off about 300pm . The fish are very heavy , anything black fished very slow seemed to work . Our biggest was close to 24" and very thick .

Limited Saturday, Sunday, and this morning (in less than two hours). Fly's the color of the weeds worked well for us.

I am headed there on the 16th and 17th for the first time. My father and uncle fished there as kids and slayed it. This is somewhat of a rite of passage trip that I can hopefully share with my son as well.

The colors I get but what kind of bugs were they? Chronomids, buggers, etc?

Chironomids under an indicator , stillwater nymphs and damsel nymphs in olive troll very very slow with the nymphs

I would say that anything that resembles a damselfly or dragonfly nymph should get you action.
