Well, I don't have kids- BUT, from what I've heard- nobody gets any relaxing done when they take the kids fishing! Daddy Daddy look! Daddy Daddy!LOOK!!!

Sorry- couldn't resist. My friend fished there one day last week and they just trolled a Needlefish around and caught a few 12" browns. That's all I know. I'm sure a wedding ring and a worm would work too as well as a host of other methods.

Good luck- with the relaxing too!

Just bobber and worm set deep has worked for me. Might pick up a bass also.
Good Luck

I used to fish there a lot. Would troll the shoreline for trout using roostertails- nymphs- or just a piece of worm on a hook with no weight and letting it go quiet a ways behind the boat. I was fishing in a scanoe in those days. Caught a lot of rainbows and german browns. I only kept the browns and there are some browns in there. Also good bass and bluegill fishing. When the bluegills are spawning you can catch a bucket full pretty easy. Find them schooled up in the open spots in the lily pads. And I used to catch a lot of small bass up near the mouth where lacamas creek enters the lake usin purple worms and a weedless hook. Also good catfishing at night with some cats.
Will never forget one foggy morning with my son when german browns (hundreds) were surfacing all around us. We threw all we had at em and never got a single bite! It was quite a sight though for an hour or so...

Hope this helps... and if not remember
You can never outfish or out gamble women-kids-or begginners luck!
So if all else fails... do whatever the kids are doing and you'll have a chance... GOOD LUCK MATE

My advice.....Stay away from that lake. Go to Horseshoe or BG if possible. I dont fish that lake due to tryin it last year with everything i have at all times of day and night without a single bite

Sunday 3/14 we trolled around for about 4 hours after reading the stocking report in the paper. We dragged a rapala behind a sinker (for browns), and 2 rods with wedding rings tipped with worms behind flashers (ford fender type). We trolled the guardrail, Lacamas shores side, and the center without a bite. There were several other boats doing everything from bobbers on anchor to trolling, to bass fishing, and several bank fisherman. Never seen anyone catch anything, and those that we talked to also hadnt had a bite. Water was around 46 degrees on the sounder.

Should have made the drive to Yale or Merwin is my thought about the deal.

I havent given Lacamas any effort in 10 plus years, and sunday wasnt any different. Was just getting the 5 year old out of the house. Someone with more motivation and experience on that lake likely would have done much better. Or perhaps the hatchery fish would have responded better to dough baits that are more like the pellet feed they are used to.
