Replies are back!
Thanks to the new volunteer moderators at ifish, we are allowing replies, again.
Please, don't work them too hard! For instance, don't challenge people's prices or post things that will cause problems. If you do, then we will have to close them again.
Let's please keep ifish a friendly atmosphere for all.
If you have a problem, contact a mod! View Forum Leaders
Thanks!
Jen

Thank you.
Even a small % of negative remarks toward other's adds creates problems for everyone.
Being able to post a reply in a positive manner can likely highlight important information the original author may not have composed.
I've helped alot of people with their post's where I had no particular interest in what they were selling. The ifish community way.

There is a silent majority (I suspect) like myself that rarely comment on policy. I don't pretend to speak for "them" but as a member of that group I will say...
Thank-you so very much for all of the tireless work you all do to keep this the premier outdoors website. You guys and gals are rockstars!

I actually like it the way it was. Way less cluttered and human natural will prevail. If I wanted info on an item a PM worked just fine. Thanks for your diligence.

Re: Replies are back!
It works good both ways, actually, but we did a poll and by far, the opinions were that they liked it that we could talk. We will give this a shot, and if it's too much trouble, again, we will have to close it down, again.
Here is the post that we used to decide which way to go. This is a member owned and operated site, so we listen to our members when making rules and administering.

Re: Replies are back!
This is just my opinion, but not being able to reply in someone's ad allowed many "outsiders" to sell here. They were not iFishers, but people just looking to make a big profit. For example, there were several AR15 rifles for sale at ridiculously high prices. Nobody could comment and call them out on it, so it seemed like the sellers had more confidence in trying to make a big profit. Now, before anyone complains, I do agree that a seller can post any price she/he wants. But we didn't seem to have the same problem, or at least not as bad when replies were allowed.
I don't think we should criticize someone's 'for sale ad' due to price listed, but when someone is trying to make a big profit on our community I think having polite comments keeps the outsiders in line. I think if someone posts an outrageous price for something its silly not to think that people may comment. I know we need to respect the rules here, but I don't think we should cater to those who are here only to sell.
