Default Crescent 5-29 kokes/macks

I took a friend and 2 of my visiting nephews to Crescent Friday. My friend and I in my boat and my 2 nephews in their boat.
They worked the lake real good casting for browns all day with some success. We fished for macks till noon without a bump.
We all met at the island for lunch then we started trolling for kokanee out from the island. We got our limits in 1 1/2 hours on orange and green Apexes down 75-85 feet in 100-115 feet of water. Went back to trolling for macks the last 1 1/2 and still nothing. I think Waterfish put them into hiding last weekend. I got a pm from a fellow Ifisher who normally does quite well for macks and he struck out on Thursday. So the mack fishing has slowed, but the kokanee seem to be biting at mid day now.
The kokes were not as big as I expected. They looked to be 11-13 inches.

Good job on the kokes Joe! Too bad the macs weren't biting. My new goal for mac fishing is to catch some from the deepest parts of the lake. Exact opposite of "reach up and touch the sky"; I want to reach down and bring up a mac from 300!

Thanks for reporting Joe. Family, friends, and fishing always make for a super good time. Gonna head over there myself Monday and dunk some jigs for a few days. You're getting to be quite the koke fisherman anymore, junior! We all knew you'd come around sooner or later. If you miss catchin' those big macks too much...you might try taking that pink chair with you in the boat and sitting in it while you troll. You never know...it might have kind of a reverse 'banana in the boat' effect...

Some reason the Mac fishing on Crescent has not been kind to me either.

But Odell on the other hand , we have hammered them , nothing under 8lbs

as of yet. Most in the 12 to 14lb range and two Bull's by total mistake, both

where let go unharmed. Mark Bolton the owner of Odell sporting goods has

been fishing with me when the Bulls where caught and released. Both

caught off planer boards. We informed Mike the Fish Biologist with USFS

and sent him pictures and weights.
