Lava Lake, 5/26

[Kokanee Slow]

Friend Frank and I went to Lava Lake today. Arrived about 7AM only 2 rigs in the launch ramp parking area. A little breezy but not a factor all day.
Motored to the northeast end near the large rock. Still fished for an hour with power bait, and marshmellows w/ nightcrawlers, nada.

Began trolling toward the west on the north end, wedding ring spinner tipped with nightcrawler quickly picked up a 12" Rainbow. A little later same setup resulted in a 17" Fish. Sorry, didnt bring the camera (felt like something was jinxing for the past few trips). More still fishing brought in a 14" fish on salmon egg flavored powerbait.

Marked a lot of fish on the north end from 5' down to 21' in @ 35' depths. The bite was not "on" but about 11AM it stopped and the fish were not showing on the finder either.

Stuck around trolling various rigs for another 2 hours (at least it was a pleasant day on the water), and then packed it in.

I was up there all weekend. it was hit hard trailers parked all the way up the road to the entrance of little lava. I seen alot of stingers come out of there. personally i was just fly fishing little lava and it was slooooooooooow.
