Default Trouble Shooting picture uploads

Trouble Shooting the Picture Upload feature.

Does the filename have a ..JPG extension?

It must be lower case, as in .jpg. If it says .JPG, rename it to lower case, and it should work.

Did you try it once, and it didn't work?

You must rename it before you try again.

Is it a .jpg, .gif, or .bmp?

If not, it won't upload. .png doesn't work, that I know of.

Is the path too long?

Sometimes, if your picture is too deep into your computer, the pic upload doesn't like it.
For instance, if you have your picture stored in C/my favorites/pictures/nikon/0000001.jpg, the pic upload gets tired of tracing it, or something. Anyway, save the picture to a shorter path, and it works best. For instance, save it directly to C/000001.jpg, or better yet, save it to a floppy or other external drive.

Does your picture file name have other characters in it?

For instance, is it named 000~11.jpg? There are no other characters except letters allowed. Also, you can't have spaces in the file name.... Do not name it "my cat".jpg. It will have to be mycat.jpg, instead.

Is your picture too large?

If it is over 200k, it won't load. How to check? Go to my computer, find the file, and click on View/Details.
In the right hand side, it will show how large the file is. In a perfect world, my photos are under 50k.

Does your picture come out too large, and cause the page to scroll when posted on the UBB?

Try to make sure your picture is under 500 pixels wide. Then, the page won't be forced to scroll.
