Default Terror alert high?

CNN is reporting (Friday, 9:30 am) that the United States is now on High Terror Alert status. Yet, they are providing no details! What risk do I need to protect myself against? Should I stop breathing ... stop driving ... stop drinking water ... what? It seems to me that issuing a High Terror Alert without any information to guide a response is itself a terrifying act. I am discouraged at the lack of consideration for citizens that a warning like this engenders. Am I just a stupid sheep that should run screaming in circles when the red light goes on? I think not. I will not duct tape plastic over my windows and doors. I will not alter my daily activities. I will not respond to terroristic terror alert warnings until I receive additional factual information ... perhaps what Arie Fleischer is about to do.

I hadn't seen that yet. I have friends that live in the DC area. Got an email from them yesterday. Wow! What a different world they live in compared to us. There are missile launchers located all over the city. They get information sent home with their kids regarding small pox dangers. Everyone back there is stocking up on non-perishables... They said bottled water is unavailable in any of the stores right now.

Scary stuff back there...

Pete,

I thought we've been under the HIGH (Orange) Terror Alert stage since last week???

Also, it was revealed that the detainee whose story partly prompted the higher terror alert failed the polygraph test.

We have been on "High" alert for the last week or so. It hasn't changed. The highest level is Severe. Here is a link to the story msnbc.com/news/

Yep, you're all right ... it's been "High" for a while. For some reason I thought that was the top level. It isn't. I'll calm down now.

People in DC are more important than us in the sticks (like Portland)

Pete,
Grab your daughter and come down here for a few weeks
