I believe that is posted on the Coast Gaurd sticker which also states the capacities of the vessels.

You don't want to go to a bigger motor than the sticker or your insurance wont cover it.

I was thinking of twin 150's but maybe the 350 would be better. I wonder what speed I could make and what the motor would weigh. (just kidding, or fanasizing)

Do you want the biggest kicker you can put on it, or do want the one that will work the best?

Big engine, Big trouble, not always good.

Smaller engine better, more practical. Just good common sense.

Good Luck+

Look not only at the HP of the motors but the weights so that you don't go over on either. Most likely a 90hp for the main, the kicker hp isn't as important, just enough to properly troll yet get you back to shore if the main craps out. I go for the most economical to operate plus try to keep the weight down off the transom, but then again, I spend far more time trolling or anchored than running the main motor.
