Default Willy bank access

I'm fairly new to fishing the willamette and am looking for a decent spot to access the river from the bank. Any suggestions would help. I've fished the boat ramp area in Milwaukie, and a spot just south of there but could use some suggestions. Thanks!

There is a bunch in Oregon City around the mouth of the Clackamas. Meldrum bar up to the ramp at the marina.

George Rogers Park in Lake Oswego. Go across the bridge over Sucker Creek and find a trail down to the big cement tower. From there, you can go upstream along the bank for a long ways.

Roger posted some great smallmouth pictures from downtown along the east side a while back.

Well,

It depends on which part of the Willamette you want to fish really. I know plenty of good locations in the West Linn / Lake Oswego / Canby areas.

Are you looking for info primarily regarding the Milwaukie area?

I'll take anything close by. I have fished at Mary S. Young park and had some success there but I'm looking for any decent spot. Thanks for the reply!

Beneath the main highway bridge, on either side (Oregon City or West Linn) I've had good banking success. They'll probably be moving into those spots here coming up soon -- if they haven't already. I'll be down there tomorrow to report back.

Thanks to both of you. I might head down there after work tomorrow (bridge).

Check some of the old posts, also. We've had several threads about this in the past year or 2.

Good point. Why didn't I think of that! I guess it's time to get some sleep.
