Question paddle tail swim baits...

I think that's what these babies are called. Never used these things before but they look like they'd work well for smallies and LMB's due to their juiciness. I picked up some Yum Money Minnows with some Gammi Weighted Superline Spring-lock hooks.

Any suggestions/experiences using these baits such as when to use them, what season, etc.? The baits and hooks are spendy so I want to make sure I know what the heck I'm doing (which, for the most part, is asking a lot!).

I have fished with Bass Trix 6"only , with some results nothing real big only 5 pounders and under.Bass Trix is very close to the yum money minnows.Spring , summer and fall you will catch fish on a paddle tail bait.Wait until the rod loads then set the hook(sideways). You need to have some huddle bond because they rip when you catch a lot of fish on them.I use a Falcon Weighted Hook.Good lure a nice slow presentation,Oh put plenty of scent on to.You don't want them to follow it and not eat it.Good Luck post the pic'sP.S. 20lb line.

basstrix are similar to yum money minnows, however the yums are completely hollow throughout the body. therefore slightly better action they claime. I would throw them on a med/heavey rod on atleast a 7 ft rod for casting and about 15lb mono to help with hook up ratios.

good luck. long slow retrieves!
