Congrats!!!

Man you looked in pain at the Sportsman's show! It was nice to meet you, though.

Glad the prognosis is good. Do what the doc and PT tells you too, but not too much too early! Don't ask me how I know that is important.

Steve, i am happy to hear everything was sucessful. it was fun hangin with you at the show. i will be honing my springer skills so i can get you into some fish like you did me when you are back in action.

P.S. i tried finding the k13 lighted with rattles and no one had any. the fella at FMS even showed me the 2003 catalog and it did not have any rattling ones! one thing this is reminding me of is when the wiggle wart changed models. if the new k13 lighted does not catch fish we will be wishing we had bought all the old ones. something for you to ponder during your recovery. drop me a line when you are feeling up to it. i think this needs some attention. Default I\'m Home from the hospital!

I just got home from the hospital after
having a back operation. The surgery went
great. The doc said my back was a mess but
he feels I will recover completely. I am
real sore but I do not walk with a limp nor
have any numbness or pain in my right leg.
I should be back in action, chasing
Springers, in about 6-8 weeks. I am going
to take it slow but I sure am happy to be
home with my support group.

Good to see you home from the hospital. Painful ride wasn't it? I was pretty dang sore on that ride home. Take it easy, take your meds and don't lift anything heavier than a glass or fork until the Doc says ok. Hope you heal up good as new. My back still bothers me when fishing and long car trips and it's been 7 months.

Thank tou everybody. James, when I talked to Dave at Luhr Jensen, he said nobody really wanted the rattle. We immediately informed him that the rattle was needed. I will Email him and ask him again to add the rattle.

FNF, wasn't aware that you were having serious back problems. Glad to hear that the surgery went well, and as others have said don't push it - take your meds - and obey the doc.

This'll give you time to get your fishing stuff in order and before you know it the springers will be knocking at your door.

I'd have back problems too if I was hoisting as many pig steelhead as FNF does.

It sure is great having you guys around.
Another person I couldn't be without is
my wife. I sure picked a keeper. Do you
have any idea how hard it is to do things
like wipe your bottom after surgery? If
only you knew!

Thanks for sharing. I am very sympathetic, but there are some things I just don't want to think about!

Get back to bragging soon.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">Yeah, I know. I had carpal tunnel surgery a few years ago. I didn't think doing it left-handed would be that tough.
Wrong!

FNF,

Glad to hear that you are feeling better... As you do get better day by day, please don't do what I did! Ask for help and don't rush your recovery. These are the rules that I should have followed and delayed my recovery because I didn't.

#1/ Learn new lifting techniques
#2/ Learn to ask for help with lifting
#3/ If you feel pain, stop whatever you are doing
#4/ Don't think that you are completely healed after the first 6-8 weeks.

Don't become discouraged if you have days where some pain returns. It is part of the process and it is telling you that you did something you weren't quite ready for.

I still have some back pain, but it is almost always after I get up in the morning and goes away with a little stretching and exercising.

Good luck! I had my surgery in Feb of 2000 and overall, it was the best thing I could have done. Now I just wish I could keep the weight off and that would help even more...
