Call Jetty Fishery they are on Nehalem bay and usually can give you all the info you need. Not sure how good crabbing is this time of year since we are out of the "ending in R" months and the tides arent that great for clamming either. You could always throw some rings of the crab dock in garabaldi if you already have all your own gear, hit the low slack/incoming tide.

Regarding clamming, Jeremy's right, the tides aren't that great this weekend. But if the ocean is flat, these type of weekends can be great for finding razors. You won't have the crowds a real good minus will attract and that can get them showing better sometimes. If the surf is down, get there about hour and a half before low and start looking/stomping around. You should find a few.

I agree with blackdog, the tides aren't very good this weekend. I know its a little farther away, but we did really well out of Hammond last weekend.

If you've got kids going with you, the mud flats around Garibaldi and the old Coast Guard dock usually have plenty of cockles and they are ez to find. Emphasis on mud.

Default Help! Crabs or Clams?

Was hoping to get some imput on some crabbing or clamming somewhere between Tillamook and Seaside. Never done either and we are going to go down saturday morn and stay till sunday. The easier the better as we will have some little ones with us. Thanks in advance. MD
