Default 50 hp jet on 17' westcoaster

I'm going to be setting up a Merc jet on my Westcoaster in the next couple of weeks. I'm worried about air pockets, from the V bow and skag , causing the the jet to work inefficiently.I'm looking for any tips or tricks before I get started in the wrong direction. Has anyone out there put together a set up like this?

you need to exstend the bottom to ontop of the shoe to keep it loaded with clean water, email me and I will send over a bunch of pics and you will see what to do, real easy 2" x 2" angle alum and a nylon cutting board installed from the hull up and over the shoe is the trick.
