Default Yamaha Low pressure pee

My new Yamaha F225 has a much lower pressure water spit/pee relative to my previous F115, and T8. The stream is steady but just kinda like a low pressure steady stream. Like garden hose before you put your thumb on the end. Is this normal or should I take it in right now to have the water pump checked?

I'm not that familiar with your motor, but try to eliminate the easy stuff first. Has a critter crawled up inside the the pee hole and built himself a winter home?

My 2006 f200 yami has a low pressure stream also. 200+ hours and never a problem.

Rode in a boat today with a HPDI 250. Noticed the same thing, stream was weaker than my T8. Unless its overheating I wouldnt worry about it.

My 225 did the same thing. I called tech about, he told to stick a toothpick in the end of the hole. I did and there was a small obstruction slowing it down.
Also if your impeller is in need of replacing it will do the same thing.
And your temp will be a little higher.
You will see a higher temp on trole and it will fall back to normal during cruse if there is an obstruction in the water flow.
Last year Going out of Chinook the
channel was very low. I sucked up sand.
it heated the plastic cover
around the empeller up and it melted enough that it closed off the intake
port in it, to the size of a pencil. Not good,
it would run fine at high rpm's.
but on trole it would heat up and the high temp alarm would sound off.
Be watchfull of these signs....

I had the same thing. Brought it into a shop for a tune-up and mechanic found debris in the line. Now it pees like a geyser

A toothpick works great if the obstruction is right at the "pilot" hole. I prefer to used compressed air. Shoot air back up through the pilot hole to remove potential debri. You said it was a new motor so I would not think the impeller would be bad unless somehow the motor has already over heated and has caused some damage to the rubber impeller. I have seen a few of the bigger yamahas with not alot of water pressure coming out at the lower Rpm's. Keep your eye on it. ? were you running on a flusher or actually in the water?

As the tech told me. If you turn it over with out water running though
it. you can burn an empeller up with in a few seconds.
