It really is sad, but given the history of th US' participation in WWII, you would think that both, especially France, would be more supportive.

I am ashamed of Germany and their response to all this. My Grandfather came over from Germany and I still have cousins there. We had plans to visit in 2004 but with their governments attitude toward terrorists I doubt I would ever go there. I wonder if that wall wouild be down if we had not helped a little?

Why the French hate us

Remember when we bombed Tripoli in 1986?
The French wouldn't give us permission to use their airspace so the F-111's based in England had to fly around France on their way to Libya rather than over it. Then they had the gall to accuse the Air Force of near-missing their embassy in Tripoli on purpose. Oops! Clumsy moi! (snicker)
