Default Handling fish safely

There has been a lot of talk about wild fish and the safe handling of these fish. I usually wear neoprene glacier gloves when I fish for steelhead (because it is cold here in September).

My question is this. In some recent photos of monster fish I have seen people wearing gloves. They look like latex gloves, is that correct? How many people wear latex gloves when fishing? What else works?

Thanks

I use latex gloves under my wool fingerles gloves. It keeps my hands dry and warm also at the end of the day my fingers are clean and they don't smell like salmon eggs. .....Ross

when I'm not fishing in salt water I always latex gloves. Human scent does not seem to bother fish in salt water as much, but makes all the difference in fresh water. I have noticed that my catch ratio risen greatly with the gloves on. Also hands stay dry, they don't smell like bait at the end of the day and after getting use to them you don't even notice you have them on. anyone else notice that they are catching more fish buy wearing gloves
