Default Hello everyone

New guy here. I live 5 minutes from the Hood River, but don't fish nearly as often as I used to (daily, it seemed). Other than the convenience of the Hood, like to take my spey rod to the Klickitat, man there are some awesome spots on that river. White Salmon and Deschutes aren't too shabby, either!

I look over at the Hood every day on my way to/from work; can't believe I haven't been fishing. Looks a little low right now (great since I'm a fly rodder). I think I'll probably try gear fishing in the future, but for now I have all I can do learning the spey rod, and boy, when I do hook a fish on my 14 1/2 footer, what a rush! I guess I like the challenges of hooking/fighting/landing on that combo.

Tight lines everybody, glad to be a part of IFISH!

Welcome aboard hrcon, I haven't posted anything myself. I like to read everyone's postings and see pics of the fish that people catch. If my catching gets better, I will try to post pics myself. I would like to contribute to the group, more than just reading comments. The Hood is a neat little stream, it reminds me of the the upper Sandy. Get out there and do some fishing.

Your 14 &1/2 footer is big enough to touch the opposite bank on the Hood.
