Default Nautic Path/ Lowrance Problem

Bought a new chip from fishermans and put it in my lcx series lowrance. After installation you can see the data is installed but my waas system won't work. My position is no longer followed as I drive the boat. Any suggestions?

Press EXIT?

If I press exit too many times on mine (520c), it goes to the last manual scroll position I was looking at.

Is your software up to date?

I had a problem when I transfered way points between units; one unit was up to date and the other wasn't.

2 minutes later all was fine.

Return that chip and get a NAVIONICS.

You may need to reboot your system.

Look online and they will walk you through it.
There is a soft reboot and a hard reboot.

Try the soft reboot first, it will save waypoints etc.

1. Turn the unit off
2. Hold the "power button" and the "pages button" at the same time until the map comes up. Some of the units have another page appear. It should be "soft booted" now.

Good Luck

That chip is a Navionics chip.

I would try doing the updates and if that doesn't work, possibly a hard reset. If both of those options don't work take it back and get a replacement chip, because it's probably bad.

Go back into the menu GPS Setup and find the WAAS line. One of them I think says WAAS Required you don't want that one. uncheck it. whenever I check it, WAAS would not work properly Page 171 0f your Manual

Thanks for the replies guys. I talked to fishermans today and they also suggested updating off the lowrance website both the gps and the unit. If that doesn't work they suggested the soft boot then the hard re-boot.
