I agree with Keta. The insurance company wants to settle so they can get off the hook. Don't let 'em. Especially when she's still injured. There's no way you can settle fairly until you know the extent of the injuries and the long-term effects.
Good luck.

Stickit: I just went through this nonsense as a result of my wife's wreck. I e-mailed your daughter so she could call me and I will relate to her my experience. I am not an expert, but I sure know a lot more now than I did before. One thing for sure...DON'T SIGN ANYTHING WHEN DEALING WITH INSURANCE COMPANIES until you are absolutely sure of all the costs in damages to health and property.--Bouyant Minnow

Stick it-

These guys are absolutely correct....when you settle with an insurance company, like they want, it pretty much releases them of all liability. I pray Fisherlady76 is just experiencing sore muscles and stuff....but, heaven forbid, if something was seriously wrong and she had already settled with the insurance company, they are not responsible for any of the costs.

When she posted about her accident a week ago she got a ton of good advice in response. Have her go back and read through those responses. I personally have had the same thing that she is going through happen to me, it's not to late to do right by herself.

Here's my advise:
Tell the other persons insurance to stuff it.......
Go to the doctor NOW!!!!!!!..............
Get an attorney NOW!!!!!!!.............

or you will get taken to the cleaners guarenteed.............

Thank you everyone for the advice!
I just have one question I live in the Aloha area and work in Lake Oswego!
Does anyone know of any good attorneys/lawyers in the area that I can get ahold of to talk to?
I would like one in my area as I have to do all this stuff on my lunch and work also, so the closer the better... Thank you everyone!

I also sent a PM re: attorney ...

You have TWO YEARS to settle. Wait ! DO NOT take the first offer. Or the second.

STICK IT
what about her own ins. co. wont they go to bat for her. If she puts a claim aginst her Ins. co. I would bet that they would go after the other Ins. Co. to recoop thier losses.
My .02 cents worth.

My insurance guy wont have anything to do with me! He is making me do all the leg work. Insurance agents exact word were "Valerie, you dont need to be calling me and letting me know what is going on, but, you need to call the claim agent from the other ladies insurance company and tell him everything"!
Now dont I pay this crazy insurance man to be doing this work for me! I dont think I should have to do it all... my 0.02 cents!
