Puget Sound report with non-red herring
Had some pretty good fishing for sea-run cutts in a favorite South Puget Sound inlet Friday morning.
It was a big, minus tide, and a lot of chum fry are still along the beaches. The sea-run cutts whacked Bob Triggs' Chum Baby and Doug Rose's Keta Rose streamers, but I didn't hook anything longer than 12 inches.
Then a bunch of herring showed up and started walloping the flies! It was a first for me, and I've fished Puget Sound since 1996.
