Default Odell - ODFW report

I wonder if there is any basis in fact here ... really, I wonder how big those flying silver morsels are running. Usually there are 2 size/age classes, how's the mix this year?

ODELL LAKE: kokanee, rainbow trout, lake trout
Water temperature at Odell hit 42 degrees Fahrenheit and the kokanee bite switched on. Anglers fishing for kokanee are seeing great returns to the creel. The lake trout bite is still holding strong and anglers have also see success for rainbow trout. Please note that all bull trout must be released unharmed.

When reading these reports, keep in mind that the ODFW's main source for information is the resort owners at the lakes.

Another interesting note: According to the report, the fish are biting at Odell but not at Crescent. Apparently Crescent Lake is still too cold, even though it is at a lower elevation, and shallower than Odell.

I've only seen skim ice on Odell while Crescent regularly freezes with a significant thickness to it. There must be something relative to that.

check your facts. Crescent is about 260 ft. higher than Odell.
