I just came across this in outdoor life - Jim Range, an attorney in Washington D.C., has formed the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership. The group's main goal is to align hunting and fishing conservation groups behind important causes while providing expert advice and direction.
It's free to join at
www.trcp.org and members receive a free newsletter. The founder has tapped some big foundations (like the Turner Foundation), some of which have funded things like Green Peace. Apparently some of these funding organizations want to get sportsmen to shift the focus to more moderate causes like clean water and land preservation.
I'm not necessarily endorsing this organization but I do plan to visit it and, if it looks good, join!
