Selling your used computer? Better clean it

...and clean it RIGHT. Check this story out. In a nutshell, formatting your hard drive isn't enough to keep the next person from reading your potentially sensitive data. You know, credit cards, medical information, whatever.

There is free software available that will take care of that hard drive for you. Out of respect for Jennie I will not post it here, but email me if you want the URL.

Here is another real world example. My son bought two hard drives for $10 apiece at Goodwill.

When he installed them, he found the first had the entire patient database for a small Dr's office and the second still had personal financial records for an individual left on it!

SHUSH! Goodwill is my used computer goldmine, especially after the first of the year when the yuppies are donating everything they can for the tax deduction.
