Default Anybody getting called up?

NBC, MSNBC AND NEWS SERVICES
WASHINGTON, Jan. 6 — The Army said Monday it has alerted more than 10,000 reservists to prepare for active duty as early as this week to support a U.S. military buildup near Iraq. The news came as the U.S. Navy hospital ship Comfort sailed for the Gulf region and as Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld weighed plans to deploy up to 200,000 troops in the Gulf by mid-February.
***********
Looks like some reservists are going to miss springer season. :depressed:
George W just might get his war after all.

Oh, come on. I'm all for kicking his arse, too. But we're going it alone (except for the UK) and Saddam ain't gonna roll over and play dead this time. He knows that we won't quit until he's gone (unlike in '91) and he has nothing to lose by using chemical, biological or nuclear (he might already have them) weapons against us. People's heads are still filled with the memory of the cakewalk back in '91. It's a whole different ball game this time around, brother. And there might not be any winners.

We don’t need anybody else to take out Saddam. He may try to use those weapons but I don’t think the people that have to push the button will do it when the time comes knowing that the just signed there own death warrant , As for what’s left of the Iraqi Military it will prove to be even easier then last time as they have no will to fight. The memory of their last ass kicking is still too fresh in their mind. I talked to a lot of Iraqi’s during and after the war and I don’t think Saddam has the support of that sorry army he has left. He rules by fear and lies and not many of his troops are willing to die for him. He is tyrant that has killed so many off his own people that you would be hard pressed to find anybody in that country that hasn’t been affected by this. There is no love loss for the man and when we start the war it’s going to be just like last time mass surrendering or a quick death not a hard choice for most over there they know better then anybody what happens if you try and go toe to toe with the greatest military in the world.

I think GW plan will involve taking out Saddam more then fighting large scale battles with an out classed enemy. Think of all of Saddam’s Palaces blowing up at the same time and you will understand what I mean we have to make it clear to the Iraqi people who the target is and they will be more then happy to give him up once they are sure we are there to back them up. I don’t think it will be near as bad as some people would have you believe. As long as he doesn’t get off a nuke or gas scud at Israel. If they do then Iraqi will be a giant glow in the dark glass covered parking lot very quickly there after as Israel will nuke them back into the Stone Age and we won’t be able to stop them this time. I don’t think he has a nuke yet but if we give him enough time and he surely will then all bets are off.

We don't even need the UK to roll in there and clean house. I heard a general talking about Desert Storm. He said "Iraq went from the 3rd largest army in the world to the 2nd largets in Iraq in a matter of a few hours"

Once we sent the Armored Cavalry in it was only a matter of a few hours before it was pretty much all over. Would have been over sooner except it takes some time to find your targets when they're hiding.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">All we did in 1991 was kick him out of Kuwait, a dinky kingdom he'd been occupying for 7 months. Now we have overthrow his entire government in his own country where he's ruled with an iron fist for almost 35 years. And then we have to occupy, administer and rebuild that country. And we can't just obliterate the whole place. This isn't Tokyo or Berlin, and it's not 1945.
Saddam blew it in 1990 by invading another Arab country, ******* off virtually every Arab on the planet except for the Palestinians. Now the Arabs are ****** at us (what else is new) and we had to strong-arm the Saudis and the Turks to get them to play ball. Then there's the next-door-neighbors, those fun-loving Iranians. They're going to be a little jumpy about us camped out just over their western border. I don't think it's going to be Vietnam, but it's definitely not going to be Grenada or Panama.

War is NOT cool. Why do we need to pick a fight?

How come the UN weapon inspectors haven't found any UN resolution violations? I am sure the CIA has been giving them information..

WE as a people of the united states don't need or want a war. It's just some ones (GWB and oil capitalist ) way of getting what they think they need more of "OIL", because we as a nation starve ourselves on its dadily consumption and export our Alasksian oil we have a limited supply for home land use. The saudis are cutting us off thur cut backs in production, we need to find away of getting more oil and controlling the world with our Influence.
