No more dial up. Finally got my DSL up and running at home. And to make it better, I am running at 10MPBPBPBPBPS whatever it is...I have 10 of them. FLYING!! CNET was right when they told me we have a DSL station 9,000 feet away from our house. Yippppeeee!!!

You'll be spoiled for life now.....toss out the modem! I've had DSL for 4 years and would never go back to dial-up. I'd do without first. Now when your ISP falls down on the job, switch to a good reliable ISP......dsl-only.net They're in Portland and their service rocks.

Just make sure you have a firewall and up-to-date antivirus software. We've had threads on both in this forum recently, and there are good options for both that are free.

Cable modem? Bet you pay more though. :grin: :shocked:

I may only have 10 of them, but I am quite happy with them. A bajillion times better than my old dial up.
