Default Striper fishing

Hello,

I`m trying to figure out where to begin my search for one of my bucket list fish, The Striped Bass.

I don`t want to know your favorite honey hole, I`m just trying to get some general knowledge. I`m competent enough to do the rest on my own. If you want to tag along that`s kool too.
Thanks folks

If driving to CA is a possibility for you the Napa River is a great area.

There are lakes in Northern Nevada that are stocked with "wipers" and down south to lake Mead used to be one of the best striper fisheries on the planet. San Francisco bay (east side) also has a striper fishery. And you don't even need a license to fish it! Good luck and stick one for me on a Redfin!

Lustrums ago i c&r many stripers & kept some catfish in the San Luis Res Forebay/ California Aquaduct/ Delta-Mendota canal/ San Joaquin river/CA Delta/ Sacramento River. We mostly used jigs/ pileworms/bloodworms/ a baitfish we called a bullhead caught in the canals. We had some Great Times fishin' & campin'........................

Oh I miss those days at lake mead too I used to live in henderson right up the street and I use to kill um all the time. I even use to catch them off the bank with anchovies.
