Capt. Hook -
I hope this can make clear sense; there may be a more simple way, but this is what I've done:
1. open "my computer" on your desktop
2. open you "Drive C"
3. open "Program files"
4. find the folder "Outlook Express" & open it.
5. click once on the "msimn" icon; then do a right click and select create "a short cut"
6. finally, drag the newly created shortcut to the desktop. (you can rename it once on the desktop by right clicking it).

I hope this helps.

Or

Reduce or close any open windows
Click on start

then click "all programs"

Drag outlook onto your desktop

Viola

P.S. you might find it in your recycle bin too, just restore it.

Or it might be right under whatever icons the new software put on the desktop.

In XP you can just drag the icon off the "Start" menu to the desktop.

Default computer question

I got a new digital for Christmas and downoaded the accompanying program onto Windows XP. My Outlook express icon disappeared and the only way I can get into email is to go to the explorer and click on the envelope in the tools bar. How do I get my Outlook Icon back?
