Default Why drive 50 in a 35? Bad things happen!

Well the weekend started out good and then Saturday night my best friend and I are out having a good time, till we get home and the neighbor comes over with the horifying news that my best friends dog was hit by a car? We had to bury him today and boy that was hard.. What a great dog she had...

I cant understand why dip ****s have to drive 50 in a residential area when there are children and animals around! She lives on a steep downhill road and everyone thinks they have to fly down it.
Maybe if they slow down to the speed limit then they might have at least a chance to stop.

Thank you for letting me get this off my chest ifishers as it has been a hard day for our family today...

KNOW OF ANY PUPPIES? PLEASE EMAIL ME..
thanks agian

Fisherlady,

Sorry to hear about your neighbors dog. I know how much family pets mean and their loss is difficult.

I live on a cal-du-sac and I still have trouble with people speeding. To curtail this issue, I have no trouble letting those idiots how I fell about their stupidity. Not neccessarily the smartest thing to do but it helps. It does seem to help that someone stands up for the neighborhood. I have developed quite a reputation, especially with the teenagers. While they enjoy hanging out in the garage with me, they all know, and tell their friends, not to speed down my street. They know I will confront them in some manner or another. All I know it is not as bad anymore.

I am so sorry about your dog. Nothing hits me harder than the loss of a family, loved dog. :depressed:

What is interesting, is like in Idaville, the community put up a no speeding sign, about pets and kids, and the state took them down. It really helped to remind people, including myself, to see those signs made by caring people in the neighborhood.

I'm so sorry, and I will keep an eye out for puppies.

Thank you Jeannie! Yeah Im going to make a huge sign in big black bold letters and put it out on the corner of the yard and hopefully people will actually read it and slow down..

Cure for speeders GERRONTEEED

1 Iflatable beach ball
1 human
1 vehicle parked on street.

Simply stand in front or back of the car sort of out of sight of the speeder.
When they get close just roll the ball out in front of them. They wise up really quick. This is extremely confrontational. But them so is death. This method works 100% of the time for me. Maybe not right for some. But then you don't want to be parked in a handicapped parking area without a sticker if I am around either. I like drunk speeders best when the rivers are blownout. That way I can give them my undivided attention. I am sure some day my heart will go boom from having to deal with these AH's but then everything has a price.

Speeders s*ck! , I am so tired of doing the speedlimit, or even 5 over and soo many people tailgate or pass dangerously.

It seems like no matter how fast you go, the person behind you wants to go faster, and when theres nobody in front of them, they do!

Sorry about your friends dog, I really am, more victims of selfish self centered people whos time is more important than others lives and safety.

beach ball...good idea, I think I might be tempted to fill it with concrete tho.

fisherlady76 - My wife was at the pound (Hillsboro- Bonnie Hays) yesterday and said there was a really cute Rotweiller/retriever pup. Rotty coloration. She really wanted to bring him home. Ended up there becuase some kid wasn't taking care of him.

My Choc lab got hit by a car a few weeks ago he’s lucky to be alive came away with a broken pelvis and is down for a few months but that’s better then the other possible outcome. The car was speeding and it was late on a Saturday night he didn’t even stop to check on my dog before speeding off probably had been drinking. Nothing $2500 didn’t fix but now I am out the drift boat I wanted :depressed: Sorry to hear about you neighbors dog I would be a wreck if mine didnt make it. I think I saw some nice looking Lab pup's on ifish not to long ago and cant go wrong with a good lab..

Please, please, please, people. Don't let your dogs run. If you wouldn't let a 2-year old do it, don't let your dog. I know why you do it. I'm tempted too. It's late, it's raining, he/she likes to explore. The dog "knows" to stay out of the road. All those things are moot when dog flesh meets a thousand pounds of metal. Like I said, if you wouldn't let a little child do it, don't let your dog. I have hit a pet before. It was horrible. I was driving the speed limit. I don't ever want to do anything like that again. I love my animals very much. So I don't let them outside of the fenced yard without a lead. Please.

That is the sad part.. The dog was locked up in the fenced backyard!
Some how, someone or something (we are not sure) opened the gate becouse it was ajar about 3 inches and that is all it takes for a manchester terrier to get out.. We have yet to figure out who or why the gate was ajar that much but now the gate and the other gates are all nailed shut so this wont happen agian..

:depressed: Loose dogs usualy get shot in my neighborhood :depressed: The neighbors have had their horses run through fences and both of us have had chickens killed. Two of our ewes stomped a dog so bad the owners had to put it down too. One of our friends had two dogs kill several sheep and maul more that had to be killed (pregnant ewes).

We are on the end of a dead end durt road and people come to the end of the road and discover that the "Dead End" sign was right. They then whip around and speed down the road. The neighbor and me started tossing a nail filled 4x4 in front of their car and then having a little talk with them. It's amasing how word of mouth gets the message around.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">A couple years ago I look out in our back yard and there's a big Irish setter out there. Personally I don't care for dogs and my 5 year old daughter is terrified of them. I went to head out back after it and it headed for the front yard, so I head out the front door.
I get out there and there's a woman sitting in a car in our cul-de-sac. Never seen her before.
I holler at her "Hey is that your dog?"
"yes"
"You always let the *^&%$ thing run around in peoples yards?"

Her reply is "You see that house over there? Thats where he started at and I've been chasing him ever since" (She motions one block over"

I tell her where I come from dogs like that just disappear.

She quietly calls the dogs name, opens the door and the dog comes right over and hops in. My @&^ she was chasing it. I should have shot the thing looking back. Would have liked to holler at her some more. Too lazy to take the dog for a walk so she slowly drives along watching it taking dumps in peoples yards.

I'm way off topic here but I seen that line and it reminded me.

Bad things would happen if someone shot my dog just cause you craped in there yard. Not saying mine runs free at all but dogs have away of getting away sometimes no matter what you do.

Beach ball?

Let me tell you something...

Go to the Goodwill or Salvation Army and get a bunch of old bowling balls. Works wonders on today's low riders!

Then ask them if that had been a child if they would have been able to stop any better.

I have chased and caught several cars at the stop sign.

One particular little bimbette actually wet her pants!

Of course I have also been threatened by 'bangers but I just keep a bat by the garage and a shovel in the back of my pickup. I know one should be careful and a bat is not much of a match for a gun, but my neighbors and I own our homes and we have chosen to protect them and keep them livable. God knows the cops can't do a thing.

Worst part is that our neighborhood was not like this when we bought the home. But the City of Albany let the development out here explode. Now all the people from the new multiple living units (about 200) use all the neighborhood streets like rat holes and the traffic has quadrupled. It kills me cause now were stuck, we have invested, and the ones ruining it have no investment. Of course across the river in North Albany there is no such development. I mean my kid’s classes have jumped from 22 to 31 kids! Thanks a lot to the planners who allow developers to grow the area without growing the infrastructure!

It’s sad that people don’t realize the damage and hurt they can cause from speeding in a neighborhood.

If Eddie, my Jack Russell, wasn’t fixed I give your friend a puppy (more like a sack of adrenaline with teeth).

Lo

Anger management????

LMAO, thats a good one. Never struck another person, EVER!!

I just get sick of people letting their @#$% animals run all over the county dumping in my yard and scaring my daughter and thinking nothing of it.

Next time your dog gets out due to the fact that "these things happen" just remember there's probly another a-hole right down the street from you just like me.

i agree Boedy and not Sinker. you should not just shoot a dog cause you felt like it. you should shoot it cause it is endangering your family or animals. you seem like you have some issues sinker. next time try to call dog control.

Have you ever called animal control? They do NOTHING!!!! The only thing they're good for up here is trespassing on private property to see if your animals are licensed so they can raise some revenue.

Come to think of it my neighbor lives on a 1/4 acre lot and has an Australian Shephard that hasn't gotten out in the 4.5 years I've lived here. Do you know why? Cause he's dang careful abotu making sure!!!! They'll stay in if you're careful about it!!
