Default Shut off issue

Well to start this off my 19' duck with the 175 sport jet was just clicking as I tried to start it. Charged the batts and still just clicked. Ordered a new solenoid and swapped it in. Motor kicked over great! Went out Saturday and hooked it up to water then started the boat. Ran it for about a minute turned the key off and the motor was still running. After turning off the batteries and the motor still running - my pucker factor was gaining by the minute knowing that I had about 50gallons of gas in the tank – I finally found the choke and killed the motor. All the gauges shut off but it won’t kill the motor when I turn the key to the off position?? I checked the wires underneath the dash and back by the motor and they are all fine and connected. Anyone have suggestions??

Does it still re-start?

Shorted ignition switch?

Sounds like the key switch went bad to me.

Motor will restart w/o issues. Check ground and all other electronics work w/o issues.
Starting to think about the switch being the main prob - but it isn't just a plug and play. It would be more of a cut and splice job with 12-14 wires.

Just a FYI never shut off the battey switch on a running motor, you will have major electrical problems,
