Default Steelhead and Chanterelles

Caught a couple steelhead yesterday, picked a few chanterelles up on Mary's Peak today, does anybody have a good recipe for cooking steelhead with Chanterelles?

Is this an appropriate topic for the "General Chat" board ??

I think I'd just saute the shrooms with butter and onions (I like onions) and pour over a grilled filet. Simplicity.

Saute mushrooms, and onion, add to alfredo sauce. Serve over noodles as a side with BBQed steelhead fillets. CAUTION, this combonation might too intense for the young or weak at heart

I'd give my liver for some good wild mushrooms.

OLC, you are right! The mushroom that sickened and even killed some (amanita phalloides) is called the Death Angel. They said it was the best mushroom they ever ate but they had to give their liver for it. Tasty but not worth it lol.

Thanks for all the input, folks. I think I will start with the alfredo sauce over BBQ filets, and then try the Sauted onions and mushrooms.

There are quite few mushrooms available, but if you can find low elevation sparse Salal, look carefully at the moss underneth it. They are still popping up in places.

I don't want to flog a dead fungus, but I got a bunch more this morning while I was paint-balling with the kids. In other words, the fungus ain't dead yet. Don't give up if you still want some. Now I gotta go find a steelhead to go with them. What a tough life I lead, huh?
