Ok gotta vent here. We had a thread regarding navagability issues here a couple of days ago. It seems I have a new hate member in the public and he's driving me crazy. Mr. Rebell (Rusty Bell) has been sending me these hate mail emails for the last few days and it's disturbing someone on this site bothers sending people this junk when they don't agree on a subject. Sorry to call you out but in the last email you wrote he described how he sent my last email to several people. I'm not ashamed of what I wrote in the fact I'm standing by my opinion on the subject. He described how my opinion basically sucks and is unwarrented. With some choice words for me. He also described how he knew important people and I should basically shut up on the subject. Pretty much anyone can tell what their response would be to that and mine followed suite.

The resemblence to a greeanpeace person is amazing in the fact he used that response to send to other people saying this is the type of people we're dealing with. I'm sure you included the part where you singled me out and took jabs at me.

And in the end to top it off, he agrees with me on the subject and says he's on the same side and wishes me a merry christmas!!

I know this is not the purpose of this site, but if this is a common occurence for people to send hate mail I'll take mine off, which is too bad because I've had several great contacts stemming from this place.

I'm not going to post the emails for the fact this is a public and family site but to say the least it isn't pretty.

How does everyone else feel on this???

I feel that if there is a bashing over opinions, it should be kept out in the open where we can all see it, and add to it.

I feel like you have to be responsible when you use the internet, just like when you use the telephone, or any other communication.
If you don't wish to receive e mail, there is an option to hide it.
If you recieve an e mail from someone that you don't care to again, simply send them a note to please not communicate with you, any further.
It's unfortunate, but the internet is huge, and as much as we'd like to think of ifish as a small family you can trust, it simply isn't so.
I do my best to filter out and keep this a safe site, but it is beyond my abilities as an admin.
Please know, though, that I do try my very best to keep your privacy here on the site.

Too many people take this site, their opinions and themselves way too seriously.

I really hate to hear this is going on as it has happened to me from another sight and is very distressful as well as, I admit, sort of scarey at times.

I have been labled, targeted and brutally pounded over my view of Savage Rapids Dam being posted on another sight.

As tailchaser says, 'it ain't pretty' and is sadly disappointing.

Hate mail in the in box is something we are all concerned about. Unfortunately, it is something we will contend with as long as we have the courage to speak our minds in a public forum. When someone takes the time to contact you via e-mail at least you know your voice has been heard and someone is thinking about what you said.

Hey Jennie, I'm not blaming you on the fact this guy is taking it upon himself on this issue and using my email address. I was actually hoping to keep it in the main forum to keep people from doing this useless stuff and keeping opinions out in the open rather than taking personal jabs. The holyer than thou attitude was kinda funny at first but it became way too personal.

Oh well, a few fish will get hook-sets a little harder this weekend!!

Tell him to stick it and stop using your email. If he continues, especially if it is of a threatening nature, forward it to your local police agency. They will take it seriously. You could also contact his ISP, they also take it seriously.

Geez, seems like there are an awful lot of I-fishers lately who are in serious need of a life.

Honestly, after his first email I thought I was pretty clear on my feelings in the reply. I was pretty amazed by second one. I'm big enough to handle the problem if it really gets out of hand, so I'm not too worried about the cops, but something that shouldn't happen here.

On my 'puter I just create a rules using the rules wizard in Outlook and auto delete....also there is a nice little link on this website that will allow you to 'ignore' a particular user....mine has been adjusted.
