Default Crescent / Wickiup Kokanee Report

Friday afternoon I headed for Crescent to do some kokanee fishing with family. This is the earliest we've fished the lake and the conditions were challenging. We searched the lake for fish on Friday evening and didn't mark any fish until we were headed in, but it gave us a start for Saturday.

Saturday morning we picked up 2 fish in short order, but had trouble staying on top of the fish. We stuck with it, but the wind was miserable, and had no luck after that.

Saturday afternoon we went over to Wickiup and tried both still fishing and jigging. Like most people we picked up a few fish. I even caught a personal best fish that probably pushed the 20 inch mark. There were 2 boats still fishing that were hooking fish as soon as there gear hit the bottom. Any idea what they might have been doing?

Thanks for the report. What size of fish were at Crescent. Other than the monster 20" kokanee, what were the others like size wise?

Opening day was rough at Wick, both weather and catching. Managed 1 Koke but got blown off by 11. Fished Sun and Monday morning, managed a total of 16, all between 14-16 inches except 3 (2-12 inch Kokes and a 17 inch). Hootchie and dodger. Looking forward to heading back in May!

The fish at Crescent were were around 11 - 12 inches and I lost one that was probably a little bigger than that.

The big fish came from wickiup where the fish seemed to vary in size a lot. I saw people catching them from 7 to 15 inches and everywhere in between.
