Thumbs up Crescent Lake Trophies ( pics)

For opening weekend this year a group of us went to Crescent Lake. I caught two large mackinaw. One was 18 pounds and the other was 19 pounds. Both fish put up a great fight. My friends Bret Martin and Jordan Whitton both caught a 10 pound brown on the same day. They have spent years fishing for a ten pound brown. Congratulation to both of you.

Congratulations to you guys. 2 ten lb browns is an awesome weekend, and a couple brute lakers to top it off.
It was good to see you out there on Friday. We managed a couple and 1 good one that we could not get recompressed and released. I tried running him back down on the downrigger ball with a hook system thru the lower jaw but he kept sliding off and bobbing back up. Thats only happened a few times so we bonked him and had him for dinner. It was one of the best mack dinners I've had, a bit like halibut. He weighed 18 lbs and we had enough to send my partners for the day, Mike and JJ home with some.

The dog even got a taste.
Saturday was not bad either at the LBC koke derby. I'm sure there will be a report soon.

I will take my kid this summer kokanee fishing. I was thinking East Lake. Take her koke fishing during the day and fish for browns at the end of the day. This time of year is for fishing 14 hours a day for a chance of one of the fish above. The hard part is only getting 4 hours of sleep

Hey Jimmy, I just noticed that in the second pic................Why yes, you're smiling That's the first time I've seen that in your photos. Was Brett acting goofy like the picture lady at Sears?

Good job everybody! Looks like it was a super weekend.
Jimmy: What better way to break out of a slump than to hit a couple of home runs! Did you notice if anyone was catching any kokes? Just curious. One track mind I guess...

One guy told us about catching a kokanee off the dock. That was the only kokanee report I heard.

Way to go Jimmer! Nice BIG Macks. You are the man this year!!

Special congrats to Bret and JDubbya! We all know how tough and special those browns over the 10lb. mark are, and they rightly deserve those ones. Not many people work harder than those two guys. What a special day that was!! One that will go down in TTH history........

Great job guys!!!!

Congrats to Jimmy, Bret, Jordan, and Joe! Great fish... too bad the bite turned off on Friday night until we left on Sunday at 1 pm. That's fishing for you! That was rough and freaking COLD on Saturday! Some of the coldest conditions I've ever fished in.

Thursday and Friday sure were good to you guys. My sincerest congrats again. I don't think ol' Mother Crescent likes RD and myself very much .

I caught both macks on AC lures. One on a rainbow stick bait and the other on a black & silver mag shad. I believe the browns were caught on a discontinued lure. I had the downrigger set at 25ft for the 18 and 80 feet for the 19.

Good Luck
