anyone fishing the columbia yet??

i was thinking about going out sunday up around camas for and early bass trip. have you guys been out?

Wanted to really bad last week but the yard work killed my dreams! If your willing to share your report from Camas this weekend I can pass along what I learn next week. I'll make at least one trip out of Camas later this coming week. Although I will warn you this is my first bass/walleye trip out of Camas so it will be a learning experience. I also may try out of Stevenson. Saw some guys did pretty well up there.

Bottom line is the smallies look like they are turning on all around Camas so I'm sure they are there as well. Probably no one bothering with them yet due to the salmon madness that just ended. Good Luck to ya!

well if the weather turns out to be ok we might go if not we will wait until next weekend.

If you launch at Washougal and go up river, the first slough that you come to on your left has a rip-rap bank on it. Near the start of that bank is some pilings that jut out into the channel for about 30' or so. The smallies like to stack up behind those pilings out of the current. I worked a white spinnerbait slowly just off the bottom to limit out there one day last spring about this time. Bill

Do you mean Camas Slough? I can't find any other areas on my charts. Either way I'll be looking for it. Thursday is looking pretty good!

Not sure what you call it. All I know is that if you keep the bank on your left shoulder, it's the first slough that you come to. When you go into it, the land on your right will be an island.

Ohhhh. Thank you for the clarification. Not sure why I didn't consider that from your explanation. I will definitely add it to my list of stops!
