Default Plane wreck at Warrenton (Elk Hunting?)

Just saw on the news that a Lear Jet hit an Elk while attempting take off at the Warrenton (Astoria Regional) airport. Plane exploded in flames. All the pass./crew got off OK after getting the plane stopped. They didn't say how the Elk was doing :depressed: .
It was a private plane (sounds like a Charter) not a Coast Guard plane.
They said something about the Elk heading for a swim I believe!

Yeah, there's definitely something wrong with the elk down around Astoria. Apparently they want out. First they try swimming for it, now they try to hijack a plane. Where will it end?

I heard also that everone got off safe as well. But the part that everone is talking about is that the port of Astoria just put up a fence (that cost big bucks) to keep the Elk off the airport. After they put up this fence and got the Elk out of there, the Elk walked up on the dike and walked around the fence to go back inside the airport. And I might add that the elk have been there for some time.

plane belonged and was operated by the Canadian governmant from the news sources. Showed chunks of elk on the runway. Peta will have a heyday over this for sure...

I was wondering when that would happen. I spent a couple days at the airport ( girlfriends dad runs the FOB) during sept. ( archery season) There are over 100 head at the airport. It was fun watching the bar Pilots helocopter buzzing the elk as it landed.
