Default Pedometers

I'm thinking of buying a pedometer to measure running and walking distances, but I've never used one before, and know nothing about them.

How accurate are they? Are there some that are better than others? Any specific type or brand to steer clear of?

The digital ones are as accurate as how accurate you are at determining your gait. Otherwise, how precise do you really need them to be?

I bought one and made the mistake of buying one with a plastic clip. It broke within a couple of months. I would clip it on my belt in the morning, and apparently the sheer force applied to it was too much for it to handle. Bummer. Try and find one with a metal clip.

Thanks Mr Geek.

I probably wouldn't have thought about the metal clip, that's a good point. I guess I just want it as accurate as possible if I'm going to buy one, I'll do some shopping and try to zero in on a well built digital model.

Thanks for the input.
