Fished Friday at Suttle and caught one brown while fishing for kokes. Attended the class on Friday night and learned a lot of different tricks to add to the bag.
The best advice...go where they are biting so with some information and directions from NWsoftball I headed to LBC on Saturday. On the water by 8 a.m. and off around 12:30 with two limits. Caught four casting to jumpers (first koke on a jig) and then moved to trolling. 18 pulls 1.5 oz weight chrome dodger and the orange/chartrues crappie jig setup that moknots put me on to. (I add a single small blade on mine)
Detoured Sunday for sturegone...I know this is the wrong board but my report for the lower river is wait a few weeks. This time of year I sneak down to the tongue point area and find fish but Sunday was a boat ride for me.
Monday back to LBC...On the water by 6:30 caught four quick ones casting to jumpers then it died. Went on the troll same setup as Saturday and got bites but couldn't boat them. Ended up with 5 fish by noon and wanted to see if the temps were helping Suttle.
Fished Suttle Monday night and this morning without a touch. Saw fish really starting to school this morning in a few places but couldn't get a bite.
Stopped by Detroit for a quick try for trout and didn't find biters in the 2 hours I fished.
Hope Suttle hits soon so I can try out my new techniques.
Thanks for the report. It was nice seeing you at the class and at LBC. I didn't fair as well as you on Saturday, managed three trolling. Then on Sunday I got zip!
