Default Nice rainbow!
Went fishing Sunday and landed one of my biggest rainbows! It measured just about 28" and I'm guessing somewhere close to 8lbs. Caught on a chironomid imitation, intermediate line, 5/6wt rod, 6X (3.4lb) leader. It fought surprisingly well, jumped and did a thrashing cartwheel TWICE and took quite a bit of line on a few big runs. I couldn't land it out on the water so I had to kick to shore while playing the fish to get a hold of her. It was a beautiful day to be out even though I only caught one other fish...

Great fish!

Amazing that such a big trout was feeding on chironomids.

Holy cow! That fish almost looks like 10-12 lbs to me. Great job, as I love to see flycasters score big!
