Default Browlee April 18 Crappie

Fished Brownlee Saturday with my son. Put in at Woodhead and headed up river. When the temperture in the coves hit 50 degrees the bit was on. In four hour we got and released about 100 crappie. Keep 10 for dinner, Same size as late year, was hoping they would be a little larger this year. Maybe the larger ones will show, chartreuse was the color of the day. Also got a couple of 2 pound bass. Good luck Grizz

Congrats on the fish and thanks for the report.

Personally, I'm more interested in the best locations and methods of catching the big catfish. I've caught plenty of channels, and a couple flatheads, but never a blue cat. None of them from Brownlee, however.

Good info, I have a couple of other questions.

How shallow were the fish holding? What would you estimate the air temp to be? Was the sun shining when you caught them or was it cloudy?
